Hello All,

While participating in our monthly SC Mission: Lifeline  Steering Committee conference call on Wed., I learned that the FDA has issued a warning, that anyone who has had stents in the past year, should be aware of. If you have had heart stents, and your doctor has prescribed Plavix, in combination with an anti-ulcer drug....such as Nexium, Prilosec, etc. You need to stop taking the two together. Findings indicate that the anti-ulcer drug, is causing the Plavix to be ineffective; therefore creating a serious possibility, 70% chance, of another heart attack or unstable angina; 48% chance of a stroke, 35% increase of having to have a repeat coronary procedure (according to the Minneapolis Heart Institute). Just wanted to let you all know so you can pass the word along to your family, friends, or co-workers, who may be taking this combination of drugs. God bless, Jan
